Knoxville-based coke producer SunCoke Energy will have a high-profile leader when it becomes an independent company next year.
Former General Motors Chairman and CEO Frederick A. “Fritz” Henderson has been tabbed to head SunCoke.
Henderson is now a senior vice president with Sunoco Inc., SunCoke’s parent company. He will become chairman and CEO of SunCoke in 2011 after the coke producer is spun off, Sunoco announced Thursday.
The Philadelphia-based oil and chemicals company previously announced it would spin off SunCoke in a move to boost its stock price.
