Kimberly-Clark Corp.’s Loudon mill recently passed a notable milestone – 1 million man-hours without a reportable injury.
The safety record was accomplished over 534 consecutive days and was the first time the mill had achieved the milestone in its 22 year history, the company said in a news release.
The mill, which produces Scott and Kleenex brand products, has 320 employees.
“Maintaining a safe work environment demands dedication not only to themselves, but to each other,” John McCloskey, product supply manager for the plant, said in a statement. “Safety is not about tracking injuries and incident rates – it’s about taking care of ourselves and each other to see that we all go home safely to those who are counting on us.”
Consumer products maker Kimberly-Clark operates worldwide. Its brands include Huggies, Pull-Ups, Little Swimmers, GoodNites, Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Andrex and others.
