East Tenn. Business Hall of Fame inductees named

Junior Achievement announced Tuesday it will induct three Knoxville area businessmen into the East Tennessee Business Hall of Fame on April 11th in a ceremony at the Knoxville Convention Center.

They are Joseph Hollingsworth Jr., owner and CEO of the Hollingsworth Companies; Steve West, chairman of West Chevrolet Inc. and West Properties Llc; and the late Jim Shelby, a longtime business and financial adviser who died last July.

Presenting sponsors of this year’s induction ceremony are Pilot Travel Centers and the Greater Knoxville Business Journal.

Since its founding in 1989, The Business Hall of Fame has honored East Tennessee business leaders based on their business accomplishments and contributions to free enterprise and society.

“We look forward to celebrating the remarkable history of the East Tennessee Business Hall of Fame and to honoring those individuals whose entrepreneurial spirits, vision and guidance have helped get us where we are today,” Chip Reed, president of Junior Achievement of East Tennessee, said in a statement.

Previous inductees include James A. Haslam II, founder and chairman of Pilot Corp.; Ted and Avis Phillips, founders of Phillips & Jordan; Randy Boyd, founder, chairman and CEO of Radio Systems; and Dale Keasling, CEO of Home Federal Bank.
