Despite slow economy, Saratoga Technologies keeps growing

The economy continues to struggle, but East Tennessee technology services provider Saratoga Technologies Inc. has expanded again.

Saratoga announced Thursday that it has acquired AlterCorp Technology Group, an information technology company serving metropolitan Knoxville.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The merger is expected to be complete by June 30. AlterCorp will operate out of Saratoga’s Knoxville office at 1209 Euclid Ave.

“Right now, needless to say, it’s a little bit tough for some companies … which makes it a good time to look at acquisitions,” Saratoga Chief Operations Officer Ron Jenkins said.

Founded in 2001, Saratoga has aggressively pursued growth through acquisition. AlterCorp is the company’s second Knoxville acquisition and its 20th overall.

AlterCorp President and CEO Adam Huskey will join Saratoga as director of technology.

The sluggish recovery hasn’t been kind to some companies, but it’s good to see some outfits aren’t afraid to invest in growth.
