Knoxville area businesses interested in hosting an electric vehicle charging station can learn
everything they need to know on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at a seminar at the Knoxville Chamber, 17 Market Square.
The information session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The agenda includes an overview of the electric vehicle program that eventually will place hundreds of charging stations in publicly accessible locations throughout the Knoxville area.
Presentations by ECOtality, Nissan, Knoxville Utilities Board and the Tennessee Valley Authority are also on the agenda.
ECOtality is a nonprofit renewable energy company that is working with the state to develop an EV infrastucture in Tennessee.
Nissan North America is making the all-electric LEAF at its plant in Smyrna, Tenn.
The corporate green movement got a charge on Thursday when General Electric said it would by 25,000 electric vehicles by 2015.
A number of high-profile companies, including Memphis-based FedEx Corp., have added hybrid-electric vehicles to their fleets.
