Tennessee Solar Institute has $14.5 million burning a hole in its pocket and wants to give it all away.
The institute announced Tuesday that it is accepting grant applications for its Solar Innovation Grant Program.
Grants of up to $500,000 may be awarded.
To be eligible for funding, a company must be a for-profit business working in or seeking to expand its work in the solar industry in Tennessee. Grants will be awarded to help companies “strengthen their offerings to the solar industry as well as improve energy efficiency in their place of operations,” according to the announcement.
TSI, a collaborative effort by the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is part of Gov. Phil Bredesen’s Gov. Phil Bredesen’s Volunteer State Solar Initiative and is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Application forms and more detailed information are available at the TSI website.
Or call (865) 974-4705 or 1-866-SOLAR90 or e-mail email@example.com.
Development of a solar industry is off to a good start in Tennessee. Will the next governor keep the flame burning?
