Green Mountain among fastest-growing companies

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, which has made a sizable investment in its Knoxville

That’s up from No. 11 a year ago.

The maker of Keurig single-serving brewing systems has seen 55 percent revenue growth and 96 percent earnings per share growth.

The Vermont-based company paid more than $10 million about two years ago to buy an empty factory in Forks of the River Industrial Park. Since them it has invested millions more to get the plant operational and has created about 300 local jobs.

I’m still catching up on local business news after being on vacation last week, but it’s always good to see a company with strong local connections doing well.

The Fortune 100 Fastest-Growing Companies list was released last week.
