President Obama turned up the heat on Republicans today, blasting the GOP for refusing to vote in favor of extending unemployment benefits for millions of Americans.
Repubs say they don’t want to add to the national debt. Extending the benefits would cost $34 billion. Obama says that’s hyprocritical since the Republicans voted for an extension when George W. Bush was president.
Stay tuned. The rhetoric will only get hotter as the midterm elections draw closer.
On this issue, Obama would seem to have the advantage.
If you’re out of work, the national debt is the least of your worries. Taking care of your family is your priority.
