Sen. Bob Corker will deliver the commencent address on Friday to graduates of the University of Tennessee College of Business, Corker’s office said.
Corker graduated from the College of Business in 1974 with a degree in industrial management.
Graduation ceremonies are 2 p.m. at Thompson-Boling Arena.
“Thirty-six years ago, I was sitting exactly where they are, and I look forward to sharing with them a few of the things I’ve learned along the way,” Corker said in a statement.
After graduation in 1974, Corker worked for four years as a construction superintendent before starting his own construction company. He later got into commercial real estat development.
In 1994 he was named Tennessee commissioner of finance and administration and in 2001 was elected mayor of Chattanooga. He was elected to the Senate in 2006.
