Legislature missed adjournment Thursday, goes for Friday

With the House and Senate still at odds on some issues Thursday, legislators will try again to wrap up the 2016 legislative session on Friday. When the week began, many were optimistic about closing the legislative shop by Wednesday.

The two biggest sticking points appear to be over cutting the state’s Hall tax on investment income and restoring a reduction made last year in state subsidies to disabled veterans for payment of their local property taxes.

House-Senate conference committees were named Thursday to try and hammer out a deal between the two sides
