Democrat Lenda Sherrell’s first TV ad in 4th Congressional District

News release from Lenda Sherell campaign:
(Murfreesboro, Tenn., October 2, 2014) – Lenda Sherrell, Democrat for Congressional District 4, has released a television commercial featuring family, local people, farms and businesses in Grundy County where she lives with her husband of 47 years, Dr. Jim Sherrell.

In the 30-second advertisement, which broadcasts in the Chattanooga and Nashville television markets, Sherrell shares her traditional Tennessee values and the spirit of community that shaped her, culminating in a decision to run for Congress to give voters a choice in the upcoming general election.

“I want people to see the Tennessee I grew up in. When someone in the neighborhood goes through tough times, people in our communities step up — we always have. There are things that we can accomplish if we work together instead of against each other. It’s about getting results and having a record of achievements that improves the quality of life for all Tennesseans. This district does not belong to a party, nor does it belong to elected officials. It belongs to the people.”

Sherrell, a certified public accountant, has built a career that spans 25 years as an auditor and controller managing million-dollar budgets working for educational and non-profit health care organizations.

“In the private sector, I consulted with businesses small and large, helped develop an agenda for long-term financial goals, oversaw retirement, pension funds and met budget bottom lines while managing fiscal obligations. The people I worked with had competing priorities. Yet, we came together, discussed ideas and developed solutions based on what was in the best interest of the organization; I will do the same in Congress.”
