Harwell’s Statement on Rep. Todd’s Resignation as Committee Chair (and Todd’s statement, too)

Statement emailed from Speaker Harwell’s office:
“Representative Todd has submitted to me his resignation as the Chairman of the House State and Local Government Committee. He indicated he does not want to distract from the work that must be done, and I appreciate his willingness to step aside so that we may focus on legislative business.”
Statement from Todd, via House Republican Caucus:
October 17, 2011, NASHVILLE) – Representative Curry Todd (R–Collierville) released the following statement after meeting with House Speaker Beth Harwell (R–Nashville):
“Today, I told Speaker Harwell that I would step aside as Chairman of the House State and Local Government Committee until this matter is resolved and she has accepted it. The Committee’s work is an important aspect of the General Assembly and I do not want my actions to distract from that.”
