Romney Visits TN; Perry, Bachman Coming Soon

For the second time in four weeks, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney stopped by Memphis to meet local supporters — this time to collect money.
More from the Commercial Appeal:
The former Massachusetts governor was in town for a couple of hours Tuesday to speak at a fundraiser that likely netted “multiple six figures” in donations to his campaign, said Brad Martin, former CEO of Saks, who invited Romney to Memphis.
Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry are frontrunners for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Perry is scheduled to visit Memphis next Wednesday for a fundraiser at Memphis Botanic Garden.
…About 100 local community and business leaders attended the $1,000-a-plate luncheon, which was closed to news reporters. Those attending included Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell, Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich and former U.S. attorney David Kustoff
Meanwhile, Michele Bachman has a fundraiser scheduled Friday in Franklin, according to the Tennessee Tea Party newsletter. Here’s the info:
Friday September 23rd 6 pm – 8 pm. Meet and Greet with Michele Bachman. Old Natchez Country Club in Franklin TN. Everyone is invited to attend and meet Michele. Even if you are not sure who you support at this time or even if you do, at least come hear the candidate in person, without media bias, and hear what she has to say, and ask her your questions. As this is a fund-raiser for Michele, a donation is required at a minimum of $125.
At 8 pm there will be a more intimate meeting with Michele at a private residence on the Old Natchez grounds. A $1000 donation is requested to attend this event.
