Haslam Misses Obama Ft. Campbell Visit (Wasn’t Invited?)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam is not among those attending President Barack Obama’s visit with troops at Fort Campbell to celebrate the successful military operation against Osama Bin Laden.
Haslam spokesman David Smith said the Republican governor had a previously scheduled commitment Friday to attend a luncheon at the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival in Humboldt. Smith said the governor’s office was also not officially notified of the visit by the White House.
While Fort Campbell’s official address is in Kentucky, much of the sprawling installation is located across the state line in Tennessee.
Fort Campbell is home to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, which was involved in the raid against bin Laden. It is also home to the famed 101st Airborne Division.
