KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — Three-star defensive lineman Dimarya Mixon verbally committed to the Vols on Saturday night.
He announced the news on his Twitter account.
Mixon is a 6-foot-4, 263-pound lineman who played at West Mesquite High in Texas. He could play end or tackle in college, although he’s indicated his preference for end in some interviews.
Mixon signed with Nebraska after originally committing to Arizona State and then Missouri, but he failed to qualify academically. He could enroll at Tennessee in January.
The Vols officially have 30 commitments in the 2014 class. They plan to sign 30, but are still pursuing several targets, which means attrition in the class is likely over the next three months.
