In my column on Sunday I talked about how social media and digital devices are tearing down the wall between the public and newsrooms.
I reflected on the day I was in my town’s newspaper for winning an art contest. I had to way all night long to see that photo.
It got me thinking, how would that same situation play out today?
Today the situation more than likely would have played out this way: My mother takes a picture on her cellphone, e-mails photo to newspaper, and the paper runs photo in the “Your News” section. All this after it’s already been posted to Facebook, where my nearest and dearest would have first access to my shining moment.
