The Tennessee women’s basketball team has convened a book club to accompany their individual preseason workouts.
The players are reading “Good to Great” by Jim Collins in a chapter-by-chapter manner with two players designated to present a specific chapter’s material. The book breaks down how specific companies made improvements in their performance over time and offers a road map to exellence .
“It’s like studying success,” Lady Vols assistant coach Dean Lockwood said.
Freshman forward Isabelle Harrison said that the players already have a greater appreciation for accountablity from this exercise.
“Ever since we’ve been reading this book, we’ve been holding each other accountable for the job we need to do,” she said. “So if I’m not rebounding hard, Glory (Johnson) and Vicki (Baugh), they’re on me.”
