When I arrived in St. Thomas, U.S Virgin Islands, this afternoon, it was 80 degrees and sunny. I arrived at my hotel room just in time to watch a setting sun take its final dip into the ocean for the day.
I wish my luggage was here to see it.
I’m assuming the Tennessee women’s basketball team has fared a little better in arriving here on Tuesday. Instead of sunsets, I’ll be watching the Lady Vols play three games in three days beginning Thursday against Missouri. For starters, here’s what I’ll be looking for:
— UT seems to prefer a faster pace. Will that work in this marathon-like setting?
— This team is so much better when Shekinna Stricklen and Glory Johnson are playing at their best. Will they be dependable?
— The players will continue their ongoing quest to adequately distribute shot attempts. Should be more interesting viewing, not to mention shooting.
— And finally will forward Vicki Baugh, who has missed the past three games, be back on the court? And how much will center Kelley Cain play? Their presence, literally and figuratively, makes a big difference.
