DOE team assesses Livermore TRU system

The Department of Energy’s Office of Enterprise Assessments did an “operational awareness visit” to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory to evaluate the effectiveness of the tracking system for transuranic waste.

“Overall the TRU waste inventory is effectively managed, and the HazTrack system is sufficient to ensure that the safety basis assumptions remaining bounding and the Waste Storage Facilities technical safety requirements inventory controls are met,” the report stated. “No findings or deficiencies were identified during this review.”
