Rad detection in Romania

The National Nuclear Security Administration today announced that a new radiation-detection system at the Henri Coanda International Airport in Romania had begun operations. The system was an outgrowth of a 2008 agreement between the Department of Energy and the Romanian Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform to work together to prevent the trafficking of radioactive and nuclear materials. Other detection systems have previously been installed at ports and border crossings.
