Y-12 ups security following Chattanooga shootings

y12security2The National Nuclear Security Administration today confirmed it had elevated security at the Y-12 National Security Complex in the wake of the Chattanooga shootings. Four Marines were reportedly killed in the shootings, as well as the unidentified shooter, according to news reports.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and have heightened overall site security awareness and vigilance,” Y-12 federal spokesman Steven Wyatt said. “We cannot provide any other details on security measures at Y-12.”
