IG releases redacted report on Sandia inquiry

Last fall, the Department of Energy’s Office of Inspector General released an audit report that determined that Sandia National Labs used federal funds in an attempt to influence Congress and get an extension of the government contract. The entire 30-page report, however, was not released because it was dubbed “Official Use Only.”

The IG has now released a redacted version of the full report, thanks apparently to FOIA requests by Kevin Bogardus of Greenwire and others. Bogardus said he received his copy of the redacted report about a week ago and posted the story online on July 6.
