DOE moving ahead with ORISE procurement

The Department of Energy late last year confirmed that it would recompete the management contract for the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, which has been held by Oak Ridge Associated Universities since the institute was created in 1992. Now DOE has taken the next step, issuing a pre-solicitation notice on the Federal Business Opportunities website.

According to the notice, DOE expects to release the solicitation in the summer. The current contract is due to expire at the end of 2015, and ORAU has already stated its intent to submit a proposal to keep the contract.

A draft performance work statement was posted in the FedBizOps notice, and DOE said additional information will be posted in the future.
