EnergySolutions statement

Asked for comment on the violations and fines issued by the Tennessee Division of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regarding the Oct. 14 fatal accident at Erwin, EnergySolutions this evening issued this statement:

“We received notification today from TOSHA of its findings regarding the Erwin accident. Throughout the investigation we have worked closely with TOSHA and have already implemented all required corrective actions.  We will work with TOSHA over the next 20 days to finalize this matter.”

EnergySolutions, which is based in Utah, has 20 days in which to contest or appeal any parts of the citation and 30 days in which to pay the assessed fines (totaling $6,450).
