Cray Inc. announced that it had received a $30 million Defense Dept. contract to provide two XC40 supercomputers and two Sonexion storage systems to the U.S. Navy DOD Supercomputing Resource Center at the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
“The Navy DSRC will use the Cray XC40 supercomputers to produce high-resolution, coastal-ocean circulation and wave-model oceanography products supporting Navy and DoD operations worldwide,” Cray said in its announcement.
