Operations still suspended at Erwin plant

Mark Walker, spokesman for EnergySolutions, today confirmed that operations remain shut down at Erwin Resin Solutions — where a worker suffered fatal injuries in a fall earlier this week.

“The investigation is ongoing, and operations remain voluntarily suspended,” Walker said in response to questions. “No word when the facility will be back in operation.”

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Gary Reedy.

Investigations are under way by Tennessee OSHA, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and EnergySolutions.
