Peace alliance challenges ‘secret process’ on UPF

The Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance has raised concerns about the “secret process” the National Nuclear Security Administration is using to evaluate alternatives to the Uranium Processing Facility at Y-12 and this week asked U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander for help. In the letter to Alexander, OREPA coordinator Ralph Hutchison noted the public has not been involved in the process and that members of the Red Team conducting the study have not been identified (other than ORNL Director Thom Mason, who’s heading the team).
