Y-12 big winner in Sustainability Awards

The Y-12 nuclear weapons plant was the big winner in the Sustainability Awards announced this week by the National Nuclear Security Administration.

The Oak Ridge plant, which is managed by B&W Y-12, won four of the 11 “Best in Show” awards and two of the seven “Environmental Stewardship” honors.

In a statement, NNSA Acting Associate Administrator James McConnell said praised the winners and said the federal administration would continue “striving to develop new and creative solutions to minimize the environmental impact of our vital national security mission.”
